Sembra che la Toyo abbia testato le gomme su una GT-R americana, con risultati sorprendenti, tanto che in pista si raggiungono accelerazioni laterali simili a quelle generate da un aereo...

Per uno sensibile come me alle accelerazioni sarà un guaio.....

Toyo Tires® Releases First R-Compound, 20-Inch Tires for Nissan GT-R

CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA — Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has introduced two new 20-inch sizes in the Toyo Proxes R888, making them the first to offer R-compound tires for the new Nissan GT-R. Originally previewed at the 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the 285/35ZR20 (100Y) front and 315/30ZR20 (101Y) rear fitments are now available at authorized Toyo Tires dealers across the United States.

The Nissan GT-R is a limited production, Japanese supercar that boasts 485 all-wheel-drive horsepower. With its incredible power and handling, it is the ideal car for high-performance driving schools, track days and timed competition. The Proxes R888 competition tire further enhances the track capabilities of this supercar with features such as a continuous center contact for excellent directional control during hard braking. A unidirectional, 6/32nd-inch tread pattern with v-shaped grooves enhances wet traction and control, while a semi-slick shoulder area helps to increase cornering force. The Official Tire of Speed World Challenge®, the Proxes R888 can also be shaved for maximum dry-weather performance on race day.

Non vedo un solo motivo per montare delle dimensioni di pneumatici non omologate, non solo, al pari di altre modifiche meccaniche si rischia il decadimento della garanzia, oltre al sequestro del libretto da parte delle F.d.O.
Credo che la Toyo avrebbe fatto meglio a produrle per le dimensioni originali, per quel che mi riguarda non le monterò mai.

Spesso chi fa track-day ha dei cerchi con delle gomme da usare in pista! Queste gomme sono molto utilizzate per track-day ma meno come gomme da tuttti i giorni vista l'eccessiva rumorosità... i problema vero saranno i prezzi!!

Mi sorge spontanea una domanda, con una GT-R come li porti in pista altri 4 cerchi e relative gomme?

Io con la Subaru le cambio da gommista prima di andare in pista e il giorno dopo le tolgo.. il rischio che ti fermino c'è però penso che sia il miglior compromesso per avere una buona durata degli pneumatici di tutti i giorni e allo stesso tempo ottime prestazioni in pista!!
