Eccole!!! Well today was the day that Nismo could finally let the finished R35 GT-R RC out of the bag so to speak in final demonstration livery. The GT-R RC is seen here as it is preparing for Sunday’s final race as it’s entered into the Super Taikyu round 4 as an ST-1 class competitor. The car you see here is what customers will be able to buy from Nismo in the near future in a similar vein to the Fairlady Z NISMO 380RS-C. Nismo hopes to show off the GT-R’s pace this weekend in order to attract buyers and they certainly have the right drivers for it. Hopefully all goes well for the guys and we’ll bring the results as we get them. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ------------------------------- http://www.gtrblog.com/2010/06/25/super-taikyu-nissan-gt-r-st-1-race-car-debut-at-fuji-speedway/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Guarda che assetto....guarda che freni...... The 2011 Tokyo Auto Salon is just around the corner and and we are just twitching with excitement for the vehicles being displayed at the event, especially the new Nissan GT-R. We already know that Axell Auto is tuning up the star of the show with their own little package, but now we hear that Nissan and Nismo have joined together to bring a customized GT-R sports coupe specially developed for circuit driving to Tokyo as well. This new model is called the Nissan NISMO GT-R RC and will be able to compete in various production races held around the world. Sweet! The NISMO GT-R RC is based on the Nissan GT-R and features a slick tire-compatible suspension, lightweight components, and special safety equipment and devices. Among the safety equipment added is an FIA-approved welded roll cage, a 120-liter ATL safety fuel tank, and air jacks. The release doesn’t offer any further information on the new Nismo, but we imagine an upgrade will be made to the 530hp, 3.8-liter V6 twin turbo engine sitting under the hood of the latest version of the GT-R. We’ll have more details for you in early January 2011 when the Tokyo Auto Show’s doors finally open. PRESS RELEASE Nissan to Showcase Nine Exciting and Innovative Models at Tokyo Auto Salon YOKOHAMA (Dec. 21, 2010) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., together with AUTECH Japan and Nissan Motorsports International Co. Ltd. (NISMO) will present nine exciting and innnovative models equipped with the latest custom and aftermarket parts at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2011 with NAPAC (Japan Car Parts and Aftermarket Promotion Association). It will be held January 14-16, 2011 at Makuhari Messe. Nissan will recreate the exciting atmosphere of its participation in the SUPER GT domestic racing series with a display of a race vehicle, transporter and hospitality cars, along with “pit stop” tire changing demonstrations, Also on display will be the 100% electric, zero-emission Nissan LEAF Aero Style Concept and Nissan’s range of standard road cars stylized with the latest genuine aero body kits that complement the vehicles’ pure forms. Autech will showcase its expertise in custom cars with three fun, relaxing models, including “Elgrand Rider” concept. NISMO will be presenting its new production race car, the Nissan NISMO GT-R RC, which will be officially announced at the Salon, and the MOTUL AUTECH GT-R racecar that competed in the 2010 SUPER GT series. |
